Introduction This Cookies Policy explains how Trek Labs Europe Ltd, a company incorporated in Cyprus with registration number HE 335683 and authorised and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment firm under license no. 273/15, with registered address at Aiolou & Panagioti Diomidous 9, Katholiki, 3020 Limassol, Cyprus (the “Cyprus Entity”), and “Trek Technologies” SIA (the “Latvia Entity”), a company incorporated in Latvia with registration number 40203613537, authorised and regulated by Latvijas Banka as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider under license no. 27-55/2026/10 and as a Payment Institution under license no. 27-55/2026/11, with registered address at Brīvības iela 40-37, Rīga, LV-1050, Latvia (together with the Cyprus Entity, the “Company,” “we,” or “us”), use cookies and similar technologies on eu.backpack.exchange website, web applications and related service domains (the “Website”). This Cookies Policy should be read together with the Data Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how the Company processes personal data, including the respective roles of the Cyprus Entity and the Latvia Entity as controllers. The Website currently uses only cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate, secure and provide the Website and services requested by users, together with technologies that remember settings actively selected by a user. The Website does not currently use analytics, advertising or targeting cookies. ## 2. What cookies and similar technologies are Cookies are small text files stored on your computer, mobile device or other terminal equipment when you use a website. They may be used to maintain a secure session, enable requested functions or remember a setting. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, software development kits, device or browser information used for security checks, and other methods that store information on, or obtain information from, your device. In this Policy, references to “cookies” include these similar technologies unless the context requires otherwise. Cookies set through a eu.backpack.exchange domain are generally referred to as first-party cookies. Cookies set by another domain are referred to as third-party cookies. A technology may be supplied by a third-party service provider even where it is deployed in a first-party context. ## 3. Session and persistent technologies Session cookies and session-storage entries are temporary and are normally deleted when you close the relevant browser or tab. Persistent cookies and local-storage entries remain for a defined period or until they are replaced or deleted by the Website or by you. The duration of each confirmed technology is described in the separate [List of Cookies and Similar Technologies](/legal-documentation/cookies-policy/list-of-cookies.md). The expiry of a token contained in a cookie may be shorter than the lifetime of the cookie itself. ## 4. Technologies currently used ### 4.1 Strictly necessary technologies These technologies are necessary for the operation and security of the Website or to provide a service expressly requested by you. They support functions such as authentication, maintaining and refreshing a logged-in session, protecting signup and password-reset forms against automated abuse, opening requested support functionality and performing fraud-prevention or browser-security checks. Consent is not required where storing or accessing information is strictly necessary to transmit a communication or to provide a service expressly requested by the user. Where information obtained through these technologies constitutes personal data, it is processed under the applicable legal basis described in the Data Privacy Policy. ### 4.2 User-requested settings and application state The Website may use local storage to remember settings that you actively select, such as theme, language and chart layout, and to maintain encrypted application state needed to provide the interface and account context you are using, such as the active subaccount. These technologies are used only to provide or remember the relevant requested setting or application function. They are not used for advertising, cross-site tracking or audience measurement. You can clear them through your browser settings, although doing so may reset the Website to its default settings or require you to select the relevant account context again. ### 4.3 Analytics, advertising and targeting technologies The Website does not currently deploy analytics, advertising or targeting cookies. Google Analytics has been disabled on the eu.backpack.exchange. If the Company introduces any non-essential analytics, advertising, targeting or other consent-based technology in the future, it will update this Policy and the [List of Cookies and Similar Technologies](/legal-documentation/cookies-policy/list-of-cookies.md) and implement an appropriate consent mechanism before activating that technology. Non-essential technologies will not be activated unless and until you provide the required consent. ## 5. Detailed list of technologies The current technologies, providers, purposes, storage locations, domain scope and retention periods are described in the separate [List of Cookies and Similar Technologies](/legal-documentation/cookies-policy/list-of-cookies.md). The list forms part of the information provided under this Policy and will be reviewed when the Website or its service providers change. ## 6. How to control or delete technologies Because the Website does not currently use consent-based cookies, it does not currently ask you to make analytics or advertising choices through a cookie banner. You can view, block or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser or device settings. Blocking or deleting strictly necessary technologies may prevent you from logging in, maintaining a secure session, completing protected forms, accessing support or using parts of the Website. Deleting settings stored in local storage may reset preferences and layouts. If consent-based technologies are introduced, the Website will provide a consent tool through which you can accept or reject non-essential categories and later change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawing consent will be as easy as providing it and will not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. ## 7. Third-party service providers The third-party providers currently involved in deploying or supporting the cookies and similar technologies described in this Policy are Amazon Web Services for web-application-firewall protection, Cloudflare for bot management on protected service origins, and, where the relevant support flow is within the scope of this Policy, GitBook. Where a third-party technology is deployed through the Website, the Company remains responsible for controlling its activation where consent is required. Service providers process data subject to the contractual and data-protection safeguards described in the Data Privacy Policy, including safeguards applicable to transfers outside the European Economic Area. ## 8. Retention and security Cookies and similar technologies are retained only for as long as needed for the relevant function. Authentication and security technologies have the specific durations stated in the [List of Cookies and Similar Technologies](/legal-documentation/cookies-policy/list-of-cookies.md). Browser settings and encrypted application-state entries remain until they are replaced or deleted by the Website or by you, in accordance with the applicable function. Any personal data derived from these technologies is retained in accordance with the purposes, retention rules and safeguards described in the Data Privacy Policy. ## 9. Data protection rights Where the Company processes personal data through cookies or similar technologies, you have the data protection rights described in the Data Privacy Policy. These may include the rights to access, rectify, erase or restrict your personal data, the right to data portability, the right to object, and the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. The availability of a particular right depends on the circumstances and the applicable legal basis. ## 10. Changes to this Policy The Company may update this Policy to reflect changes in technologies, purposes, service providers or applicable law. Where a change is material, the Company will provide appropriate notice and, where required, request consent before activating the relevant technology. The date at the beginning of this Policy indicates when it was last updated. ## 11.
